We accidentally stumbled upon this trail while looking for something to do. When we got there, the parking lot was closed and street parking was quite full. We had to find street parking several blocks away and walk to the trail head. I was amazed at how beautiful the view was. And to think, we live pretty close by! We should come down more often to enjoy this view. The sun was soon to set. There were lovebirds perching along the clifffs below. Lucky for we us, we found two unoccupied bench at the end of the trail.
There were informational signs talking about the Bay Point formation. Some areas were closed for revegetation projects. Small vegetations were marked with little flags. Sammy said she thought they were the markers for land mines. Her comment made us pause and think about the kids who are affected by land mines in other countries. Of course, she was reminded by us how lucky she is to be living in the US.
We shared the sunset with grandma via FaceTime.
That sunset reminded me of the ones we saw while visiting Hawaii. Look forward to visiting Hawaii soon! Aside from seeing this wonderful view, we heard the Reveille and Retreat National Anthem playing in the distant. The end of the trail is apparently near a naval base.
